Back at Katsucon earlier this year, FUNimation talked about getting Jormungand out sometime before the end of this year, but with solicitation information through November out, it’s started to look a bit unlikely. But now according to an updated listing for Jormungand: Complete Series: Part One [Blu-ray/DVD Combo] on Amazon, it looks like we have a release date. Set for December 17th, the first half of the series is on DVD/BD combo priced at $64.98, which means a regular edition release rather than a limited edition – though an LE edition could be added at any time. It covers the 300 minute runtime and four disc count (two DVD, two Blu-ray), so it’s pretty legitimate here.
The series ran for two seasons in Japan for a total of twenty-four episodes animated by White Fox based on the manga of the same name by Keitaro Takahashi. The series started airing the season after the manga ended in January 2012 after running since 2006 for a total of eleven volumes.
