Based on the manga Toyko Yami Mushi by Yuki Honda that began back in 2010 and has seven volumes so far and a sequel series, the live action adaptation by Sakichi Sato has had its first trailer out. Sato is known for a variety of aspects in film production as he worked on the adaptations of Tokyo Zombie and Ichi the Killer as well as playing a roll in Kill Bill Vol. 1. This marks his first directorial work since the 2010 feature The Bugs Directive. He was last seen acting in the 2012 feature Tokyo Playboy Club.
Plot concept: Katou Ryou owes a lot of money that he has no way of repaying. When he’s violently kidnapped by thugs, he is terrified that they’re finally going to kill him. To his surprise, he is offered a chance to live…by becoming an underling in an organized crime gang.
