The official site in Japan for Nisekoi has updated this weekend by bringing in a new key visual of a few of the characters from the show that will certainly generate some appeal. The series is planned for a winter 2014 broadcast in Japan. Nisekoi is based on the manga by Naoshi Komi which has been appearing in the US version of Weekly Shonen Jump since earlier this year. The series began back at the end of 2011 in Japan and has been running since. The first US graphic novel release for it is slated for January 7th, 2014, which will be perfect timing to drive up interest on both sides of the equation.
Akiyuki Shinbo will be directing the show with the following cast announced so far:
- Kouki Uchiyama as Raku Ichijou
- Nao Tōyama as Chitoge Kirisaki
- Kana Hanazawa as Kosaki Onodera
- Mikako Komatsu as Seishirō Tsugumi
- Yumi Uchiyama as Ruri Miyamoto
- Yuuki Kaji as Shū Maiko
- Takehito Koyasu as Claude
Plot concept: As a child, Raku Ichijo made a secret promise with his childhood sweAetheart, keeping a pendant as a memento while his love took the key. He dreams of one day meeting his past love, but years later, reality smashes his hopes when Chitoge Kirisaki accidentally knees him in the face…
