Michael Rooker
While some actors are more interesting than others, there’s just a whole other category for Michael Rooker. With a lengthy career behind him already that’s only been all the more engaging with his turn in The Walking Dead, he’s now a part of one of the “riskier” movies from the Marvel Studios plan with Guardians of the Galaxy. The folks at SuperHeroHype had a chance to talk with him recently about that film and how such a different project that it is works for him and what kind of approach he got to take based on what James Gunn indicated he should and should not do to prepare for the role.
“When I first got the role of Yondu, [director James] Gunn was like, ‘Don’t read any of the comics!’ but It’s beautiful stuff. Whenever you do a film of comic book characters and stuff you don’t know how much you can show, you don’t know how much is going to be brought out. Nowadays movies are done and they already have two or three others planned out. So stuff you do in this one, you ask “Why aren’t we doing this?” and they say, “Well be patient!”
