keijo-visualThe fall 2016 anime series Keijo!!!!!!! has its home video release plans being handled by Warner Bros. Japan and they’ve set a fairly standard plan for it. Ahead of its broadcast this coming week, they’ve now launched a marketing blitz that covers the show itself with two TV spots, a spot for the upcoming CD release, and one for the recently announced home video releases. The twelve episode series is getting a six-volume release that begins on November 23rd, 2016. With both formats being listed as limited editions, both the DVD and Blu-ray releases are priced at 8,208 yen each.

Animated by Xebec, the series was directed by Hideya Takahashi based on the series composition from Takao Kato. Keiya Nakano handled the character designs for it.

The Japanese cast includes Lynn as Nozomi Kaminashi, M.A.O as Sayaka Miyata, Kaede Hondo as Kazane Aoba, Saori Oonishi as Non Toyoguchi, Rena Maeda as Hanabi Kawai, Hibiku Yamamura as Mio Kusakai and Rie Takahashi as Rin Rokudō.

The work comes from creator Daichi Sorayomi which began back in 2013 and has eleven volumes out as of this past spring. The work is Sorayomi’s second after the three volume series Momi-Baraishi ran in Club Sunday for three volumes between 2011 and 2012.

The opening theme song is “DREAMxSCRAMBLE!” by AiRI while the ending theme song is performed by the four lead actresses with “Fantas/HIP Girlfriends!”

Plot concept: Kaminashi Nozomi (17) is an exceptional gymnast. So much so that colleges with some of the best gymnastic programs are trying to recruit her. Unfortunately for them, she has other plans. Due to her family being extremely poor, money is everything to her. That’s why she wants to step into the world of “Keijo.” “Keijo” is a type of gambling sport where girls stand on a small floating platform and compete against one another. The aim is to push the other contestant off of the platform into the water, but they are only allowed to use their butt or breasts to push the others off. Will Nozomi be able to compete in the intense world of “Keijo” and bring wealth and fortune for her family?

AnimeLab Adds Sexy Fun With ‘To Love Ru Darkness’ Streaming Acquisition

to-love-ru-darknessSexy goodness is getting a boost at AnimeLab in the near future for Australian anime fans as the service has picked up the streaming rights to To Love Ru Darkness, the third season of the property. The twelve episode run will be showing up in the near future in its original Japanese language form with English subtitles as no dub was produced for it.

Check out our review of the North American Blu-ray release from Sentai Filmworks here.

The show has Atsushi Ootsuki directing it at Xebec with Yuichi Oka on character designs. The cast includes Aki Toyosaki as Momo Belia Deviluke, Misato Fukuen as Golden Darkness, Yuka Iguchi as Mea Kurosaki, Akeno Watanabe as Rito Yūki, Haruka Tomatsu as Lala Satalin Deviluke, Sayuri Yahagi as Haruna Sairenji, Kanae Itō as Nana Astar Deviluke, Kana Hanazawa as Mikan Yūki, Kaori Nazuka as Yui Kotegawa, Ryoka Yuzuki as Risa Momioka & Celine, Satomi Arai as Peke, Mamiko Noto as Oshizu and Rina Hidaka as Mea’s Master.

Property concept: As close encounters of the twisted kind between the residents of the planet Deviluke (represented primarily by the female members of the royal family) and the inhabitants of Earth (represented mainly by one very exhausted Rito Yuuki) continue to escalate, the situation spirals even further out of control.

When junior princesses Nana and Momo transferred into Earth School where big sister Lala can (theoretically) keep an eye on them, things SHOULD be smooth sailing. But when Momo decides she’d like to “supplement” Rito’s relationship with Lala with a little “sisterly love,” you know Lala’s not going to waste any time splitting harems.

Unfortunately, it’s just about that point that Yami, the Golden Darkness, enters the scene with all the subtleness of a supernova, along with an army of possessed high school students! All of which is certain to make Rito’s life suck more than a black hole at the family picnic. Unless, of course, a certain semi-demonic princess can apply a little of her Devilukean Whoop Ass to exactly that portion of certain other heavenly bodies!

Ruko is a teenage girl who just found one of these rare cards. Now, she can use her LRIG to battle in a strange, dark plane of existence. If she wins, her wishes will be granted – but what happens if she loses?

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Diamond is Unbreakable HeaderWarner Bros. Japan is handling the home video distribution for Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Diamond is Unbreakable in Japan and previously released the full details. With the fifth volume coming up in a couple of weeks, they’ve now brought out two new TV spots to remind folks to get their preorders in. They also get in some nods toward upcoming events next year for fans that reside in Japan – or those that will make quite the trek for it! The thirty-nine episode series is getting a thirteen volume release, three episodes per disc, that begins on June 22nd, 2016.

The Blu-ray’s are priced at 7,800 yen while the DVDs are priced at 6,800 yen each. The show is directed by Naokatsu Tsuda, returning from Stardust Crusaders, with Toshiyuki Kato serving as the series director and Yuuta Takamura as the chief episode director. They’ll be working off of series composition by Yasuko Kobayashi and character designs by Terumi Nishii. David Production will be handling the animation duties for the series.

Plot concept: The coastal town of Morioh is plagued by the “Bow and Arrow,” an ancient artifact which manifests latent stand abilities in criminals and ordinary folk alike. At the same time as they are dealing with the huge influx of stand users—both good and bad—in Morioh, high schooler Jousuke Higashikata and his friends are searching for the culprit of a series of homicides.

The manga began in 2008 online and began a print run through Micro Magaznie Comics back in 2011 with seven volumes released to date with more still being produced.

Matoi the Sacred Slayer VisualHOUSTON, September 30, 2016 – Magical girl meets shrine maiden in the latest addition to Anime Network Online’s (ANO) Fall 2016 simulcast season: Matoi the Sacred Slayer.

I have wielded a god.

The year 2016 — In Tenman Shrine in Kamagaya City, Matoi Sumeragi was a 2nd year middle school student working a part-time job as a shrine maiden. Separated at a very young age with her mother, she has been entrusted for a long time with her paternal grandparents, and three months ago she finally started living together with her father Shingo. Because of such conditions, Matoi had been looking up to an ordinary, calm lifestyle.

Matoi’s close friend and coworker Yuma Kusanagi was the candidate for the next shrine maiden, being born into the family of the Tenman Shrine’s shrinemaster. She finds out that the family has conducted “exorcism” to rid evil spirits for generations, and attempts the “ritual of divine possession”, a ritual connected to “exorcism”, together with Matoi.

After school, the two of them head to the shrine as usual, but there they find a devastated shrine and Yuma’s parents wounded and collapsed. Furthermore, there was a man there with somewhat of an aura of insanity, who was a suspect for a mysterious case that Shingo, who is a detective, was trying to crack. Yuma suddenly conducts a “ritual of divine possession” in order to hold the thrashing man back, but it wasn’t Yuma that changes happened to…

What was given a girl who was seeking an ordinary, normal life was the power to wield a god and rid evil spirits!? Matoi Sumeragi will earnestly work at exorcist activities in order to regain those calm days where nothing gets in her way!

Matoi the Sacred Slayer begins airing on Tuesday, October 4, 2016. ANO subscribers in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, Turkey, Central America and South America will be able to simulcast new episodes every Tuesday at 10:30 AM EDT.

azumanga-daioh-episode-22Australian streaming service AnimeLab has added another anime classic series to their coming soon slate with the pickup of streaming rights for Azumanga Daioh. They don’t have a start date for it yet and have not revealed if it’ll be a bilingual release, but it’ll definitely be good to have another home for fans to check out this show with, and more back catalog shows available is always a good thing.

Check out our review of the series here.

The show originally aired in Japan back in 2002 and was directed by Hiroshi Nishikiori (Trinity Seven, I’m Gonna be an Angel!, GAD GUARD), with Ichiro Okouchi (Negima!, CODE GEASS: Lelouch of Rebellion ) in charge of series composition. Production was handled by J.C.Staff (Honey and Clover, Nodame Cantabile, Detective Opera Milky Holmes).

Plot concept: or the members of Miss Yukari’s English Class, a typical day may be just a little unusual. Part of that’s due to Miss Yukari herself, whose teaching style (and personal ethics) tend to be odd, improvisational and spontaneous, but her students are just as unconventional: There’s 10-year-old Chiyo, still at the top of her class after skipping five grades, and her opposite Ayumu “Osaka” Kasuga, whose poor grades are surpassed only by her horrific skill at sports. Then there’s Tomo, a competitive slacker who puts excessive energy into doing very little, and Koyomi, whose surprising maturity is compromised by a malevolent sense of humor. Tall, statuesque Sakaki’s athletic exterior hides both unexpected shyness and a most unfortunate obsession with cats, while tiny Kaori’s heart is mainly obsessed with Sakaki. They may all seem like perfectly normal girls on the outside, but even their most mundane activities magically become the most extraordinary adventures as they learn all about life, the universe and affairs of the heart in AZUMANGA DAIOH!

fullmetal-alchemist-brotherhood-headerAniplex USA took control of the rights earlier this year with the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood series and back at Anime Expo 2016 they announced their intention to bring it out on Crunchyroll. They are bounded by the basic law of alchemy: in order to gain something you have to sacrifice something of the same value. The main character is the famous alchemist Edward Elric—also known as the Fullmetal Alchemist—who almost lost his little brother, Alphonse, in an alchemical accident. Edward managed to attach his brother’s soul to a large suit of armor. While he did manage to save his brother’s life, he paid the terrible price of his limbs. To get back what they’ve lost, the brothers embark on a journey to find the Philosopher’s Stone that is said to amplify the powers of an alchemist enormously; however, on the way, they start uncovering a conspiracy that could endanger the entire nation, and they realize the misfortunes brought upon by the Philosopher’s Stone.
