Good news has come for Fairy Tail fans today as FUNimation has set the release for the 2012 feature The Phoenix Princess. The release comes after the pickup earlier in the year of all of the remaining Fairy Tail TV episodes. The feature, which clocks in at 85 minutes, is set for a December 10th, 2013 release on DVD/BD combo for $34.98 retail. Special features include Fairy Tail the Movie Prologue: “The First Morning,” Trailers, Creditless Opening and Ending.
Plot concept: The film revolves around a mysterious girl named Éclair who appears before Fairy Tail, the world’s most notorious wizard’s guild. She lost all of her memories, except for the imperative that she must deliver two Phoenix Stones somewhere. The stones may spell the collapse of the magical world, and Natsu, Lucy, and the rest of the Fairy Tail guild are caught up in the intrigue.
