Dareka No Manazashi
Originally streamed last week without subtitles, Dareka no Manazashi is back this week as the channel has updated the video to now include English subtitles. Makoto Shinkai manages to bring out some interesting and atmospheric works and this year he’s riding off of the acclaim for Garden of Words. But he also had a short that was out back in February as part of the Nomura Real Estate Group’s “Proud Box Kanshasai” home living exposition. The short clocks in at just over six minutes or so but the Proud Chanel has finally sought to have it as a part of their presentation online and the video is now there. It is, unfortunately, not subtitled, but there are automatic Japanese subtitles provided that can help for the aspiring types to understand. There’s a good bit to get just from inference and Shinkai’s works speak well visually, making it worth taking the few minutes for.
