Chrono Crusade

It’s been a few years since the 2011 release of the complete collection of Chrono Crusade, which feels like an eternity when you look at what’s come and gone since, but the show is getting another shot at life. The 2003 series, originally licensed and dubbed by ADV Films years ago, is set for a SAVE edition from FUNimation on December 31st, 2013. The series is priced down to $29.99 this time around, which is $10 cheaper than when it was released in 2011. The artwork used so far from FUNimation looks like it’s using what the 2011 release had, but likely with a green SAVE banner being added to it in the near future.

Expected technical features & extras will include Japanese 2.0 Language, English 5.1 Language, English Subtitles, Azmari’s Extra Classes, Commentaries, Clean Opening/Closing Sequences.

Plot concept: In New York, 1928, the seals between Earth and Hell are breached. Hold on to your rosary as professional exorcists rage against depravity in this iconic series from the creators of Afro Samurai and Trinity Blood.

Brandishing sacred weaponry, Sister Rosette and her partner Chrono dutifully serve the Magdalene Order, a diving organization that cleans the streets of demonic filth. Their main target: Aion, an indomitable devil reining apocalyptic horrors over America. A doozy of a devil himself, Chrono’s true powers can only be released at Rosette’s command – draining her own life in exchange. Staring mortality straight in the face, this dynamite pair races against time to destroy Aion and restore the balance between good and evil.
