Gravitation: Lyrics of Love

Gravitation: Lyrics of Love

While Manga Entertainment has been working through a few different shows from Nozomi Entertainment with clips and full series, they’ve added another show today that’s a bit different from the others. The two episode OVA show Gravitation: Lyrics of Love, complete with viewer discretion advised attached to it, has debuted on YouTube as part of the deal between the two companies. The show, which came out in 1999, was part of the larger approach of bringing the manga to life as a TV series followed in early 2000 and it’s likely to be next up on the service. The show works some good material that you don’t usually see and is presented in its original Japanese language with subtitles here.

Plot concept: Bad Luck’s lead singer and lyricist, Shuichi Shindo, is a total wreck. With deadlines for the band’s next album looming, the pressure is on, but the normally energetic Shuichi has become listless and fallen into a writing slump. It’s all because Yuki – the great love of his life – has suddenly become cold and distant. Depressed and anxious, Shuichi doesn’t want to think about lyrics – he just wants to know how to get Yuki to talk to him!

Now, thanks to Shuichi’s big mouth bragging to the press about how talented he is, the band can’t even hire someone else to write the lyrics for them. If they don’t manage to break Shuichi out of his slump soon, it could mean the end of Bad Luck for good!
