The recent passing of Paul Walker has thrown a few things into tailspin in Hollywood as production on Fast & Furious 7 is obviously on hiatus with no planned restart date. The hiatus is due to the actors passing itself and the need to pay respects but also the need to figure out what to do with the script for it. The film is still currently set for a July 11th, 2014 release, but with some significant changes ahead, it’s not expected to maintain that date in the slightest.
Fox has taken note of that and has moved up one of their bigger films for the month with Dawn of the Planet of the Apes going from a July 18th date to the July 11th date. This has the film moving up from the August date that the previous film did, which had some great legs and has given Fox a lot of confident for it. Details on the new film are still slim overall beyond the fact that it takes place fifteen years after the original and only Andy Serkis is returning for more motion capture and acting work as he’ll start alongside Jason Clarke and Keri Russell.
