NoragamiWhile there is no set date and time yet, which is the norm with early simulcast pickups, FUNimation has announced they have the simulcast rights for the series Noragami, which debuts on January 5th, 2014 in Japan. The Bones animated series is adapated from the manga of the same name by Toki Adachi. After doing the artwork on the series for Alive: Final Evolution, Toka Adachi has been doing an original work of their own since the 2010 release of Noragami. Toka Adachi is actually a pair of female creators that have combined their names to make this particular pairing work, which is something that tends to be missed but is an interesting aspect of it. Noragami has had its seventh volume of the manga released earlier this year and it contained a wraparound on it that indicated that the series will be getting an anime adaptation by Bones for January 2014. Kotaro Tamura is directing the series based off of scripts by Deko Akao.

Plot concept: Yato may just be a minor god now, but he’s determined to make it big and he’s got a plan. Unfortunately, things just don’t seem to be going his way. He doesn’t have a single shrine dedicated to him, his partner has just quit, and now he’s got to find a new divine weapon. Just when things look bleak, he meets a girl named Hiyori and changes her life forever.
