We got the basics a couple of months ago for the February 19th, 2014 release of Noir in Japan and now a new commercial has landed to showcase the release. The series, which was originally licensed, dubbed and released by ADV Films a decade ago has since been released and streamed online by FUNimation is getting a new Japanese release priced at 36,540 yen and will come with some good extras. The show is working off of a full remastered version with an HD telecine from the original 35mm negative. It’ll be a four disc release of all twenty six episodes with the English language dub on it. Extras include an illustration collection book, cast interviews, clips, commercials and more.
The show was last released here in the summer of 2011 by FUNimation as part of the Anime Classics line-up.
Plot Concept: Mireille makes a living out of killing as an international assassin. Kirika is an amnesiac with uncanny speed and stealth. Under the codename Noir, these two lethal women track and kill criminal syndicates across the globe as they hunt for clues to their connected pasts — until they discover it is they who are being hunted. The body count rises as an ancient conspiracy unfolds.
