Thursday’s continue to be one of the big days for new anime series to broadcast and the latest one to be added to the list that Crunchyroll will simulcast is Strange+. The series will debut on January 9th at 12:30pm ET for premium members and a week later for free members. The series is getting the best kind of streaming you can get as it will be available worldwide outside of Japan. Can’t ask for more coverage than that.
The show is based on the series from Verno Mikawa that has been worked on since 2002. in Monthly Comic Zero Sum. The series has grown a bit in the last couple of years as it went along as a drama CD was done and the cast from that is going to be doing the anime as well, which means Tomokazu Seki, Jun Fukuyama, Ryotaro Okiayu, and Satsuki Yukino will reprise their roles. The series is being adapted by Seven with Takashi Nishikawa writing and directing it with Hiroyuki Furukawa adapting the character designs into anime form.
Plot concept: Based on an original manga written and illustrated by Beruno Mikawa, Strange+ is a comedic slice-of-life anime with a dash of mystery thrown in as well, focused on a boy named Kou who’s searching for his brother Takumi. However, once finding him, it appears that Takumi has started his own detective agency and has no intention of going home, and so Kou decides to join his brother in the agency as well.
