The 2014 Oscar nominations came out this morning and it largely hits a lot of the expected nods here, especially since so many come in during the final couple of months of the year as opposed to anything released much earlier in 2013. For anime fans, The Wind Rises has made it into the list for best animated film and it’s expected to definitely face some competition but may have an edge since it is supposedly Miyazaki’s final film s a director.
