Black Butler

Details are slim at this point but the folks at IEEE80211 posted a scan this morning that indicates that more Black Butler anime may be coming, which is getting hopes up for a proper adaptation of the manga this time since there’s a good deal of material coming. The first blush tease of an announcement comes at the same time that the new live action movie is set to premiere on January 18th, making it a very good time to bring out more material. The series from Yana Toboso has been running since 2006 in GFrantasy and has seventeen volumes out as of summer 2013 in Japan. Yen Press is releasing the manga in North America with the sixteenth volume released this month.

Original series concept: In Victorian era Europe, a young boy loses everything he once held near and dear to a vicious plot. In his moment of death, he strikes a deal with a demon: his soul, in exchange for revenge. Ciel Phantomhive is now the head of the Phantomhive corporation, handling all business affairs as well as the underground work for the Queen of England. His new partner is a demon butler, Sebastian Michaelis, whose prowess as a butler is only surpassed by his strength as a demon.

The story follows the two along with their other servants, as they work to unravel the plot behind Ciel’s parents’ murder, and the horrendous tragedies that befell Ciel in the month directly after.
