Deathlok
Though it’s been seeded since the start, the upcoming episodes of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. will definitely be bringing some changes to it, which is expected as a big show shakes out its first year. Those changes were announced at the Television Critics Association presentation where Jeph Loeb talked about how J. August Richards will be taking the Mike Peterson character to the next level in an arc where he’ll become Deathlok. The character, part of the darker 70′s period of new characters from Marvel Comics, had a number of revivals in the comics over the years and will mark its first live action appearance in the show.
“We’ve been leaving breadcrumbs along the way,” Loeb said. “This is a major Marvel character appearing on TV, on film for the first time.”
“We have been waiting all season for this moment where we can reveal that Mike Peterson’s story arc is an origin story,” said Executive Producer Jeffrey Bell. “We’re thrilled to have J. August Richards playing Deathlok and to have our audience enjoy this favorite Marvel character on the show.”
“If you would have asked when I was nine-years old what I wanted to be, I would have said a super hero and I’m so excited to be one now as an adult on TV!” added J. August Richards. “It’s a dream come true.”
In addition to this and having Bill Paxton on for an arc and also bringing in Jaime Alexander for a stint as Sif, we got a bit more with what’s in store as Elene Satine will be on board to play the character of Lorelei, an Asgardian villain who is the younger sister of the Enchantress, a character Thor fans want to see brought to the big screen.
”You are in the back half of the movie,” executive producer Jeff Bell said of the remaining episodes of the season. Added Loeb: “We set it up, now we’re going to pull the trigger.”
