Date-A-Live II is getting itself in order to hit the airwaves this spring and a bit of information about it has come through a new video from Kadokawa. The video itself is pretty nicely done as we get a nearly seven minute long piece that recaps the first season of the series, which was simulcast previously by FUNimation. FUNimation just recently announced that they picked up the rights for the first season for home video with plans for a June release this year in bilingual form, which will encourage more folks to check out the simulcast that’s expected to go to them as well.
The show is set for a April 11th, 2014 broadcast premiere date. This also comes at the same time that the ninth volume of the light novel series and we get a new OVA included with that which provides an endcap to the first season. The series comes from the light novels of the same name by Koushi Tachibana and was animated by AIC Plus+ under director Keitaro Motonaga. The series was simulcast in North America by FUNimation.
Plot concept: Itsuka Shido is a high school boy. On the last day of the spring holidays, an explosion destroys the town and a girl in armor appears in front of him. Shido’s sister-in-law, Kotori, tells him that the girl is called “Special Disasterous Designated Creature: Spirit”, which causes a timespace quake. Kotori disclosed that she is the commander of the anti-spirit organization Ratatosk and orders him to go out on a date with the spirit girl. Kotori says, “I don’t ask you to beat the spirit. Just let her fall in love with you and save the world.”
