Happiness Charge Precure!
With Happiness Charge Precure! having gotten underway in Japan where it’s is essentially the continuation of the property as we’ve seen before, marking the eleventh such incarnation of it, the home video release side of the equation has been revealed. The show is getting a staggered approach due to the difference in how many volumes it will have as the DVD release is geared more towards the rental market while the Blu-ray release is towards the collector:
- Vol.1 (begins November 1, 2014) to Vol.4 BDs: 23000yen each
- Vol.1 (begins July 2, 2014) to Vol.16 DVDs: 3800yen each
The release doesn’t contain much information about what to expect for bonus materials or first press edition materials on the Blu-ray side, at least outside of a nod towards the announcement commercials, but it’s expected to have a good bit as they get closer to actual release. At the moment it looks like they will be including the clean opening and closing sequences and some other music related materials.
Plot concept: The Illusionary Empire led by Queen Mirage has begun attacking Earth. The Precure teams that are on every continent of the world fend off the rampaging Saiaaku, and word spreads on global television news about the Precure girls who fight for humanity. “Precure” becomes a common word throughout the world.
Hime, the princess of the Blue Sky Kingdom that was invaded by the Saiaaku, fled to Japan. Hime was ordered by the Blue Sky Kingdom’s deity Blue to fight as a Precure girl, but even though she became a Precure girl, she simply fled. Blue advises Hime to look for Precure friends, and gives the Crystal of Love. With this crystal, one can be led to a partner. To the shy Hime, this is a convenient item. However, Hime has no idea how to use it, and she lobs the Crystal of Love, saying, “Whoever this hits is my friend!” As it turns out, the crystal strikes Megumi Aino….
