With the positive buzz that Captain America: The Winter Soldier is getting, it was no surprise to see Marvel keen on bringing back the Russo’s to do another run at the property since everyone got along well and the end result, by all appearances, looks to be strong. With Chris Evans clearing up his bits with his contract this week and making it clear that the role is one that he’ll be doing for some time yet and looking forward to it with an eye towards directing in the off filming time, we now have the next piece of the puzzle with the third film for the character getting a date.
We’ve had a few untitled Marvel features planned for release in 2016 and now it’s been revealed that the third Captain America film will debut on May 6th, 2016. The problem, of course, is that while Marvel has had this since setting it up in 2013, is that Warner Bros. moved Batman Vs. Superman to this date earlier in the year.
So, will someone budge? It seems like suicide to try and schedule both films against each other since it takes both down in a bad way since there’s enough conflict just in the screens available. Marvel’s Kevin Feige mda eit clear this week that they have no plans to give up the previously scheduled date while it’s easier to see Warner Bros. moving since they moved once before, but considering they moved to this date knowing what was hitting makes you question whether they really will.
