The Walking Dead
Being upped to a regular on The Walking Dead may not guarantee you’ll have a long life on the show, but it at least means you’re a little more important going forward and have a bigger stake in things. With the season finale last night for the series, AMC has made a few announcements today about actors that have been upped to regular status for the fifth season.
Introduced in the fourth season for all three, they’ll now have large and expanded roles going forward. Alanna Masterson has appeared as Tara, one of those that connected with the Governor during his wanderings but fell out when she saw exactly what he was interested in, which has lead her on a quest for absolution by working with Glenn during the second half of the season.
Christian Serratos has also gotten the nod as she was introduced in the second half of the season as Rosita, part of the crew that Abraham had put together to protect Eugene. She hasn’t had a significant role yet but has added a little bit of a tough persona to the mix that could factor in well.
Additionally, Andrew J. West will be upped to a regular as he presumably takes on the “villain” role for the season after what we saw with his first appearance last night. There’s a lot of speculation about Terminus and the character of Gareth with what he represents, with many thinking that he’s becoming the TV version of this spoiler-heavy character.
