Crunchyroll is continuing to pick up new series for simulcast, though some that they’re getting are pretty limited due to them being simulcast elsewhere. The latest one to run into that is Riddle Story of Devil, which has a very limited set of regions it will be available in internationally. Set to premiere today at 3pm ET for premium members and a week later for free members, the second episode will go up quickly while the third episode will appear in its regular timeslot going forward. The show is based off of the manga by Yun Kouga, who came to fame with Loveless and her character artwork contributions for Gundam 00, which brought in new fans to the franchise that wouldn’t ordinarily go there. Written by Kouga and illustrated by Sunao Minakata, the title has been running in Newtype since 2012 and doesn’t have much out overall just yet, but there’s enough for Diomedea to work with for its anime production.
The series will be available to members in Europe (excluding German speaking territories, UK, Ireland, and Scandinavia), the Arab League, and the Middle East.
Plot concept: Based on the original manga series from Yun Kouga, Riddle Story of Devil takes place at Myojo Academy, a private girls’ boarding school. The 10th year’s Kurogumi class has 12 assassins with their sights on one target, Haru Ichinose. Tokaku Azuma is a recent transfer student who is also targeting Ichinose, but she gradually develops feelings for Ichinose and decides to protect her from the other assassins
