Lupin the 3rd Complete First Series (2nd edition)While Discotek Media released the first complete series for Lupin the 3rd a couple of years ago, they’re back with a second edition that’s different in a couple of important ways. The big one is that the various extras that were on the first edition are now gone and this one is just the series itself, plus the pilot film. That gives you twenty-three episodes worth of show plus the pilot. While a lot of fans of the show are into the extras, other just want the show itself and by doing this, they can offer it at a much lower price. The previous edition runs for $59.95 while this one is priced down to $39.95, and that’s before any retailer discounts such as Right Stuf where it’s already down to $23.97. The other thing that may tempt owners of the first series is the absolutely gorgeous cover art that you get here, which is new to this edition.

The series is set for release on May 27th, 2014.

Plot concept: Hard-boiled, cocky, classy and silly – these words only begin to describe the amazing master thief Lupin the Third. With the help of some quick gunplay by his partner Jigen, Lupin takes on the world in elaborate heists, classic car chases, and nasty explosions. Fujiko, a buxom redhead with a penchant for betrayal, always gets tangled up in Lupin’s capers. The stoic but swift swordsman Goemon is just as inclined to kill Lupin as he is to help him, and Lupin can never seem to lose the relentless Tokyo Police Inspector Zenigata. What sort of trouble will this band of misfits get into next?
