Naruto Volume 65
The Nielsen BookScan top twenty graphic novels list has surfaced today as we get to see what’s going on with the book chain market with distribution and sales this. April is a very minor change from previous months in a way as it’s the first time since January that a Marvel or DC book entered the charts. That’s not too much of a surprise as it’s a Captain America: The Winter Soldier Ultimate Collection release that was picked up a lot due to the movie. Outside of that, it’s manga and Image Comics that’s dominating the charts.
Image Comics has a number of things running through with The Walking Dead still doing well with new and old releases while other titles such as Saga garners more mainstream fans as well. Image has nine of the top ten titles and that leaves a good chunk from there on out devoted to manga. Viz Media scores the top with the latest Naruto release while also getting another Bleach volume to chart. Kodansha Comics has several on the list as four Attack on Titan releases manage to draw in more fans – which we expect to continue as the anime adaptation works its way through Toonami broadcasts. Yen Press also gets in a book with the first Sword Art Online manga release hitting the chart at number 15.
