Kanojo ga Flag wo Oraretara
With NIS America having picked up the show previously, there’s still interest in the original Japanese releases to see what they’re going to offer with it that might be tempting, more so for the import crowd in general. With the first volume set to be released this month, the first promotional video for the property has landed which shows off the series pretty well in quick form. The show is getting a six disc release for both DVD and Blu-ray, though the sixth volume will be pricier in general for both. Each format is listing as limited editions for these releases that will begin on June 18th, 2014. The first five Blu-ray releases are priced at 7,350 yen while the first five DVDs are at 6,300 yen each. The sixth volumes are 8,400 yen and 7,350 yen respectively.
Each release will have a special digipak with original illustrations and come with a full color booklet and a character song CD, which will have its own booklet with newly written material inside for the story. The sixth disc looks to be the same but the bump up in price is that instead of two episodes, it has three.
The series, based on the light novel series of the same name that also has a manga going, is often shortened as just Gaworare and is animated by Hoods Entertainment, who has had some very good shows recently that they’ve worked on with Qwaser of Stigmata, Mysterious Girlfriend X and BlazBlue. The series is directed by Ayumu Watanabe, who has a lengthy lit of credits with Doraemon but also did a few other shows, including work on Space Brothers.
Plot concept: Hatate Sota is a high school boy, who has an ability to visualize “flags” for future events such as “death flag,” “friendship flag,” and “romance flag.” Despite the flag-viewing ability, he avoids making friends with others due to a trauma he experienced in a ship submergence accident. Four beautiful girls get interested in his strange way of living, and they begin to live with him at the school dorm by force.
