A Certain Magical Index Feature
With the theatrical run behind it, we got the nod a bit ago about what to expect for the August 28th release of A Certain Magical Index: Endyiumon’s Miracle, the first theatrical feature for the franchise. The feature, released in February 23rd and in theaters through the week of April 7th, had at its high 82 screens but mostly worked with thirty screens for its March run. The film brought in $4.7 million USD during is theatrical engagement as it was an original story written by Kamachi and featuring the main characters from both A Certain Magical Index and A Certain Scientific Railgun along new ones designed by Haimura.
The film is set for an August 28th, 2013 release on both DVD and Blu-ray with regular and limited editions. No details are available yet s to what the differences between editions will be.

Plot Concept: Academy City’s space elevator Endymion. One day as its completion nears, Kamijou and Index meet a Level 0 girl named Meigo Alisa. Index and Alisa have a mysterious connection in their ravenous appetites. While the three are enjoying their time after school, Stiyl (who has brought in some other magicians) suddenly attacks. His target is Alisa. Why is a member of the science side like her being targeted by the magic side? With the attack form the magic side underway, Academy City deploys a unit meant to maintain order led by its female leader Shoutaura. As the situation developing around Kamijou, Index, and Alisa grows more and more confused, Stiyl says, “That girl could likely cause a war between the magic side and the science side.”
