Manga news out of Otakon is typically fairly light, especially since some publishers hold big things for the San Diego Comic-Con, but Vertical was at Otakon and they’ve made a new pickup. One of the mangaka that’s always intriguing to read is Fumi Yoshinaga, who has done diverse works such as Antique Bakery, Solfege and Ooku, kicked off a new title back in 2007 with What Did You Eat Yesterday?, aka Kinou Nani Tabeta? The series has had four volumes released so far with a fifth on the way. Vertical intends to start releasing the series in March 2014.
Plot concept: Shirou Kakei, a straitlaced lawyer, cooks gourmet dinners for himself and his longtime gay lover, Kenji Yabuki, a carefree, hippie-ish hairdresser. The story is told through the lens of dinner preparation.
