With shooting underway in the real world as it’s not all going to be green screen material even for the large amount of CG that this film will have, we’ve gotten our first look at Michael Rooker as he takes on the role of the blue alien Yondu. We’re hoping that his wild mohawk will be CG’d in for this. Like most on-set shots, there’s not a lot of hard material to take away from it here, but getting a basic look at the outfit and look definitely helps and it’ll be interesting seeing the transition from an off angle non-shot picture like this to the final product.
Directed by James Gunn, the August 1, 2014 release stars Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Michael Rooker, Ophelia Lovibond, Benicio Del Toro, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, Djimon Honsou, Gregg Henry, Glenn Close and John C. Reilly.
