Future DiaryWhile there was some hope that a non-US release of Future Diary would be able to do the Blu-ray release, it looks like the licensing holdbacks from Kadokawa have struck again. Madman Entertainment has updated their catalog to reflect that they will be releasing Future Diary on November 20th, 2013 on DVD, which will mirror the FUNimation release that’s due out in North America this fall. The release will be a Region 4 PAL DVD that comes in a regular edition and a first collection with art box to hold both sets of the series. The regular edition will be $59.98 AUD while the box edition will be $64.98 AUD.

Extras include:

  • Episode commentaries
  • Textless opening and ending
  • Bonus “Omake” short

Plot concept: Reality quickly unravels for antisocial Yukiteru when Deus Ex Machina calls him into a death match to determine the new god of space and time. Each mentally scarred player possesses a prophetic device tuned to his or her personality disorder, giving them control over their future, and the fate of their opponents. It’s their strongest weapon—and their greatest weakness.
