In a segment that I seem to have to do a couple of times a year that really does make me feel bad, Yoshihiro Togashi’s run on Hunter x Hunter is entering hiatus status again. The property returned to serialization back on September 2018 in Weekly Shonen Jump after the previous hiatus it went into back in April 2018. Now, the book is going into hiatus once again as the health issues are taking their toll. No return date is set but Togashi indicated he has a lot of storyboards set and will be focusing on manuscripts while dealing with the health side. Togashi’s health has always been problematic and made this run difficult. The latest hiatus doesn’t have any sort of time frame for it but it was characterized as a short break.
Viz Media has been releasing the series in North America and they caught up in the spring of 2017. They’re also in the process of releasing the anime TV series adaptation.
Plot Concept: Hunters are a special breed, dedicated to tracking down treasures, magical beasts, and even other men. But such pursuits require a license, and less than one in a hundred thousand can pass the grueling qualification exam. Those who do pass gain access to restricted areas, amazing stores of information, and the right to call themselves Hunters.
